Our Blog Team

I live in Northern Ireland with my husband and 2 sons and have been crafting in some form all my life. My many interests include drawing, gardening, interior design, cardmaking and papercrafting.

I've been blogging for Tonic Studios for a few years now and have enjoyed sharing my ideas there with the blog followers.
I designed the Pick of the Bunch range for Tonic Studios - floral stamps, dies and the Punch and Stamp sets which have been so popular.

You can also see my work regularly featured in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and Crafts Beautiful magazine.
When I'm not at home designing or creating you will find me out and about demonstrating how to use Tonic Studios products. I really enjoy all the great feedback I get, especially when I'm out and about demonstrating - crafters really are lovely folk :)

I'm also on the Design Team for Papermill Direct and love to combine their card with Tonic Studios products - a great duo!

There is plenty more in the pipeline, so it's an exciting time!

I’ve crafted nearly all my life having been taught by my very talented mother to knit, embroider and cross stitch when I was quite young. For a while I had my own knitwear design business making bespoke suits, dresses and jumpers for personal customers until my health dictated that I had to stop. A friend introduced me to paper crafting, in particular card making and that was it for me.

I am delighted to be part of this very talented team and look forward to sharing my cards and projects on the Tonic Blog. I love die cutting and Tonic dies most of all for their ease of use and versatility.

I live near Belfast, I’ve been married to my DH for over 42 years and have two lovely daughters with three wonderful grandchildren so feel very blessed indeed.

I've been a crafter all my life, but my main interest is papercrafting. I love card making, but I am getting into home decor. I joined the Tonic office a year ago as a Craft Designer and could not wish for a better job. I am living my dream. I have plenty of opportunities to develop new products and also play with them. No two days are ever the same. I have been married to Alan for 27 years and have one Son called James. They certainly keep me busy.

My name is Karen, and I love to craft, all sorts of craft, but my first love is card making.

I am married and have two beautiful daughters (with a 12 year age gap) and a working sheepdog.

I was never very arty as a child, but once I discovered paper crafting, I was hooked.  I owned my own craft shop for five years until the recession stopped me in my tracks.

I am in awe of the constant developments of Cutting Dies, they just go from strength to strength with Tonic Studios being at the forefront in my opinion. The dies are so easy to work with, and all blend together so well.

My name is Mandy-Jane, and I took to paper crafting in 2004 due to ill health and have never looked back!  It was great therapy and prevented me getting bored – mid-morning TV; it had to stop..lol
I am married and come 2015 we will have been together for 30 years.  We have one son who at 26, is all grown up,  and has left the nest (we miss him!).  I am very lucky that my hobby is now my job.
I have always loved to stamp, but with the rise in popularity of die cutting, and the choice there is now, well they all work hand-in-hand with each other.  I do like to think outside the box and use the dies for projects that are not just cards – but I love cardmaking too.
I was so excited to be asked to join in the blogging

Dawny Phillips

I'm Dawny P. I'm a freelance designer, craft tutor and demonstrator and I live in Chester with Richard, my partner of 15 years and our cat, Saffy. I'm mummsy to Nickie and Emma and Grandma to Kyla & Thea who are the light of my life. I've always been a crafty girl, and before making cards, I did pottery for many years, and I had my own ceramics workshop. I do have a proper job, and I work full time, but apart from demo work and classes, I also run a card club in Ellesmere Port which I started in October 2008. As you can probably tell, life is pretty busy. And if that wasn't enough, we also breed birds of prey!!

Claire Rhodes-Brandon

I have been a graphic designer for over 30 years and have been drawing and creating since I was a child and have done many creative things throughout.

I did my own wedding invites over 25 years ago which included a die cut heart aperture, back then to have such an invitation was quite unique!  Who’d have thought we’d be doing them in our own homes.

I got hooked on paper crafting a few years ago when my friend asked me to do her wedding stationery, and I can say pretty much from then I have become obsessed. Card making is a particular favourite of mine, with die cutting my passion.

I am excited to be asked to join the Tonic team, and I’m looking forward to sharing projects made from the gorgeous products.

I live in Surrey/Greater London with my husband and three sons

Victoria Dalziel

Hi my name is Victoria,

I live in south Cheshire, I’m happily married to John for the past 18 years, and we have a little dog called Harvey who is spoilt rotten as we have no children.

I began crafting in 2005 after visiting a new neighbour, we had just moved house and my neighbour invited me in for a coffee, she was making cards in her kitchen. Anyway I didn't give it a second thought at the time.

On my second visit she was making her son a birthday card, and as we were chatting away I found myself choosing colours of card stock that matched her decoupage image, she said to me as left her home I will make a crafter of you yet, that weekend I visited a local craft shop by the end of the month I had a trolley full of craft supplies and as they say the rest is history.

Over the years I have learnt many different crafting techniques, Dies being the major part of my crafting and I have taught paper crafting to a group of ladies at my local craft shop and thoroughly enjoyed the experience as well as a lot of laughs.

I consider it to be a great honour to be asked to join the Tonic Studio's Design Team Family and look forward to creating with Tonics quality products.

                                                                  Nicky Gilbert

I've always loved to make cards, and my hobby has taken over my life (and my dining room!)  Through card craft I have discovered so many techniques, I love stamping, painting and mixed media, paper collections and of course die-cutting. I've also made so many friends through crafting, who amaze and inspire me with their creativity, and I hope to share the crafty love back!

I love a fancy fold, and I like to fill a card with ideas and embellishments.  Hand crafted cards are unique gifts in themselves, the more personal, the better. I am lucky to be on some amazing design teams, so as the card making industry evolves continually,  I love trying new products and ideas, and seeing where they take me....

Now teaching and demonstrating card making whenever I can, my blog posts are here to share and inspire...

Hi, I’m Jennifer Kray. A goofy Californian-English-Aquarian with an offbeat style.

My life has been full of amazing adventures, from hanging out with the roller skating Venice Beach Bohemians to living on a hippy commune; Moving to the sweltering Mojave Desert, wearing neon and sporting a mullet (I have photographic evidence, and it’s not pretty)!

Nowadays, things are a little quieter as I live in a sleepy Cornish fishing village in England. My free time is spent with my beautiful family, travelling to new and wondrous places and capturing the essence of my imagination through paper crafting.

When I’m not working or travelling, you’ll find me at my desk, stroking and sniffing paper. I adore paper - stamping on it, painting it, die cutting – any paper manipulation and I’m in! It all a bit of a love affair really.

Having been asked to join Team Tonic is pure gold and I endeavour to create beautiful, fun projects with all the glorious materials Tonic offer.
 Love from

Jen x
