This evening I'm sharing another Doily project. This time, I've used the doilies in a slightly different way. I'm calling this my envelope card, which was so fun and easy to make! The thing about doilies is you can use them on just about any card and you'll achieve a different look every time.
Tonic Studios Materials
Tangerine Die Cutting Machine
Nordic Envelope Die (you could use Delicate Embrace or any Envelope die set)
Devoted Doily Die Set (for the main card)
Crocheted Doily Die Set (for the panels)
Always Script Sentiment
Monarch & Princess Wings Die Set
Beautiful Blooms Starburst Gazania & Magnolia Flora Die Sets
Keepsake Bookmaker Tabs and Paperclip (Memory Book 2)
Craft Perfect Paper - Navy, Coral Pink, Pistachio Green, Olive Green, Pearlescent Card Lime Light.
Craft Perfect White Media Paper
Nuvo Drops - Gloss White
First Edition Paradise Crush Premium Paper Pad 8"x8" 48 Sheets (FSC)Advantus Idea-Ology Spiral Bound Sticker Book 4.5-inch x 8.5-inch Small TalkTombow Rocket Ultra Strong Liquid Glue
Take a piece of the pearlescent First Edition Paper and die cut out the envelope die. Tuck in and glue down the two opposite corners (top and bottom in picture). It looks particularly lovely with double sided paper but this isn't essential.
Die cut your sentiment, Leaves, Butterfly, put aside.
Die cut a doily - both layers in Coral and one in navy. Cut the Navy in half and add to either side of your beautiful coral doily. Put aside.
Cut a 2 inch x 6 inch Navy Cardstock and 1.75 inch by 6 inch White Cardstock to make a band for the front of your envelope and trim to size.
Adhere your doily, foliage, butterfly and doilies all to the front of your card.
Use White Nuvo Drops to complete the look. Card Inserts:
Initially I thought I was done but the card just didn't feel complete so I used the layering die in the envelope die set to to cut out two panels, one in Navy and the other Lime.
Layer your Super Smooth cardstock 1/4 of an inch smaller and glue to the front and back of your navy and lime panels.
Die cut any of your Bookmaker Tabs in Navy and Lime
Die Cut the small doily twice for each panel and stick your tab in-between them. Adhere to your panel (as shown in picture).
Finish with the Small Talk Sentiments.
This is quite a simple card to make but it looks so beautiful in real life. I couldn't make my mind up which colour panel to use so ended up with two.
This card has a lot of space to write a special message. I'm a waffler and like to say a lot more than just signing my name so is perfect for someone like me. You could even adhere photographs to the panels for another personal touch.
Once again, thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog. I am trying to catch up with a few launches so you'll be seeing me a lot this week.
All the best and lots of love and hugs.
