Happy Father’s Day! - Keren Baker

Happy Father’s Day to all of you that the day applies to! We sometimes forget about Dads but they do such a vital job and we often remember that their influence is so important when they’re not always there.

I have a really amazing Dad, a wonderful Father-in-law and a fabulous husband who’s a great Dad to our 5 kids. I wanted to make a card for him and was inspired seeing my lovely friend Jennifer Kray doing a Facebook live all about Nuvo Embellishment Mousses. Someone was asking about whether acetate and Nuvo mousse are a perfect partner- and why, yes they are! So I decided to get my mousses out ( which I have to admit often forgetting about) and created a card using a mash up of products. I rarely do cluster cards like this, so it made a lovely change.

I literally have thrown the whole kitchen sink at this card. I have the Pegworks die by Mama Elephant, the Letters For You Stamp set by Stampin’Up!..available here. I cut a die (which I can’t show you properly yet) for the tyre treads as a cardstock stencil to put the Nuvo Old Navy Mousse in. The Nuvo drops are in Dandelion Yellow and I absolutely love the new Neutrals Glitter Paper by Concord and 9th. The charcoal colour is nearly manly and I was amazed how well it went with the arrangement and reminded me of an asphalt road surface too!

You can see the benefit of using Mousse on acetate. It helps meld all the elements together because it’s clear and is a wonderful texture on your project. It’s easy to do, just be careful to fix your stencil carefully so it doesn’t slip on the non-porous surface of the acetate. You can have it either way too; another wonderful benefit of acetate!! The little tape measure ribbon is some older Docrafts product I’ve hoarded. I love how it gives a pop of colour into an otherwise monochrome combo. The papers are from Reverse Confetti Cheerful and Kind . The mini bulldog clip was a set I picked up cheaply – and are available all over the place!

Love the mix and match look. So easy to achieve; just cluster everything in one point on the card. It helps stop the card looking too cluttered- although there’s a bit too much stuff on for my liking!!

I’ll leave you with a funny email I received this morning.

Do you think I should email them and tell them? Jamie’s school whenever they send correspondence address it to Mr and Mr too. They’ve met me- I’m sure ( I hope!) it’s just a typo!

Hope you all have the loveliest of days!

Keren x
