Pin-Ups - Hello Sailor! - Jennifer Kray

Hello and welcome to my Saturday blog post. Today I'm sharing the awesome Hello Sailor from Tonic Studios.

Now, I have a lot of friends in the military and my baby sister is in the Navy so the image, for me, is one of strength and determination, fun and cheekiness.

Here are two cards I'm sharing with you today.
Card 1
Tonic Materials Used

Bakers Twine
Other MaterialRibbon
Patterned Papers

Paper piecing takes time but it's absolutely worth it as you get so much awesome detail. Here I've used white media card as the backing outline so you can use other mediums on it - like alcohol markers for her mouth and hair.
Use the DL Layering Tag Dies to create a large tag card. The layers were a little far apart for my liking so I doubled up each layer to cover more of the card.
Use a hole punch at the top of your tag and add ribbon and twine to hold the card together. Cut out the sentiment to complete your large tag, which I think is cute and fun!

Card 2

Tonic Materials Used
Star Layering Dies
Bakers Twine

Other MaterialsTim Holtz Stencil

Start off with an A2 card blank - 5.5 inches by 4.25 inches.
spread your embellishment mousse through the stencil at opposite corners and allow to dry.
Nuvo Embellishment Mousse works fabulously through stencils and it dries quickly.
Paper piece your die. Take more care when gluing to glitter and use a strong PVA glue.
You can add some Alcohol markers to her hair, skin, cheek and lips for a realistic face.
Die cut the largest star with gold pearlescent card and your patterned paper. We want the star sturdy. Next cut out the largest star #1 and #3 with gold pearlescent card again but this time you're making a gold border to attach and where your die cut sailor girl will sit.
Place your star in the centre of the card and your lady sitting on it, between the stencilled mousse for a great effect.
Cut out the sentiment to finish.
These two cards are relatively simple to make but oh such fun! Have a great weekend and I'll be back tomorrow with one more post.

Lots of love and hugs
Jennifer xx
